Requirements
- Minimum of one year of related experience.
- Working knowledge of banking credits and debits, accounting, and taxation.
- Knowledge of statutes applicable to tax reporting and electronic filing requirements.
- Proficiency in PC use within a Windows environment, including MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite (Gmail, Sheets, Docs, Drive).
- Strong mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, averages, percentages, and interest).
- Strong verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
- Ability to clear a comprehensive FBI criminal background check and Arizona tax compliance verification.
- Ability to complete one week of in-person training in Phoenix, AZ.
- Understanding of confidentiality requirements regarding tax information.
- Experience with Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, or LEAN preferred.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, investigate, and adjust tax documents and payments for specific tax types.
- Identify, examine, and correct tax documents and payments that failed system validation.
- Conduct comprehensive research and communicate with taxpayers and team members to resolve return or payment errors.
- Process low-volume tax returns within the system.
- Update or amend standard operating procedures for assigned tax types.
- Participate in staff meetings, 1:1 coaching, and assigned work teams.
- Apply lean principles and the Arizona Management System (AMS) to maximize work processes and continuous improvement.
