Requirements
- Expert knowledge of Looker including semantic layers, LookML, Liquid, and administration.
- Advanced SQL proficiency (window functions, optimization).
- Experience with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake or BigQuery.
- Intermediate knowledge of dbt (data build tool).
- Strong understanding of Git workflows, CI/CD principles, and data modeling (Kimball, Data Vault).
- Ability to write Python for automation and API interaction.
- Proven experience leading or mentoring engineers in an agile environment.
- Ability to communicate complex technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
- Passion for documentation, Jira hygiene, and process development.
- English language proficiency.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and coach the Analytics Engineering team to drive high performance.
- Manage team capacity, sprint priorities, recruitment, and onboarding.
- Architect and maintain centralized Looker semantic models (LookML).
- Act as the gatekeeper for Looker, enforcing coding standards and performance optimization.
- Establish and manage version control and CI/CD pipelines in GitLab.
- Collaborate with Data Engineering to define table structures and schemas.
- Translate stakeholder business needs into scalable data models.
- Automate manual workflows using Python, Looker API, or AI integration.
