Requirements
- 6+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with deep specialization in security architecture.
- Proven track record designing and implementing platform-level security controls including OAuth, OIDC, SAML, encryption, and secrets management.
- Strong grounding in threat modeling and secure-by-design principles.
- Ability to set technical standards and communicate effectively to influence others.
- Experience with cloud security fundamentals including IAM, network security, containers, and Kubernetes.
- Track record of shipping secure, reliable, production-grade code.
- Experience working in a SaaS company facing enterprise scrutiny (SOC 2, ISO 27001) is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Take formal ownership of Harmonic's platform security architecture covering authentication, authorization, secrets management, encryption, and multi-tenant isolation.
- Write production code that directly hardens and extends these patterns in the core platform.
- Set and enforce security engineering standards for the wider engineering team.
- Manage an independent backlog of platform security improvements.
- Run threat modeling and architecture reviews on major new systems and integrations before deployment.
- Partner with engineering leads to embed security patterns during the design phase.
