Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails.
- Experience designing, consuming, or evolving APIs.
- Proficiency in React and TypeScript with full-stack comfort.
- Experience using AI tools to solve real-world engineering problems.
- Must be based in Canada.
- Ability to overlap significantly with 9 AM - 3 PM PT work hours.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Experience with API design and security best practices.
- Familiarity with developer tooling such as SDKs and CLIs.
- Strong systems thinking and product instincts.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve public APIs for external developers and partners.
- Improve the security, consistency, and usability of the API surface.
- Develop and maintain Ruby on Rails services powering integrations and tooling.
- Build and evolve JavaScript SDKs and frontend libraries.
- Iterate on existing and build new in-house integrations.
- Champion technical discussions, architectural decisions, and trade-offs.
- Partner with internal teams to solve novel merchant use cases.
