Requirements
- PhD in a quantitative field with 5+ years of experience in a related leadership role.
- BS or MS in a quantitative field with 8+ years of experience in a related leadership role.
- Experience applying data science to credit risk management.
- Proven ability to create, deploy, and manage experiments and models in production systems.
- Proficiency in software engineering fundamentals, including test-driven development, code review, and refactoring.
- Proficiency in the PyData stack (numpy, scikit-learn, pandas).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey vision to a technical team.
- Experience helping team members grow through coaching and training.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to execute through education and trust.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of machine learning models to solve practical problems.
- Partner with business leaders and technical experts across the company to develop new data sources.
- Improve modeling methodology and apply models with sound risk management.
- Provide clear goals and purpose to the data science team.
- Mentor team members by helping them identify strengths, weaknesses, and professional growth opportunities.
- Communicate a vision on how data science applies to complex business problems.
- Manage production experiments and models.
