Requirements
- 8+ years of engineering experience with a focus on Edge Computing or Distributed Agents.
- Deep expertise in Go or TypeScript.
- Hands-on experience shipping software for on-premise customer environments.
- Expert-level knowledge of asynchronous architectures using Kafka, Google Cloud Pub/Sub, or Dataflow.
- Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes for distributing software and managing container lifecycles.
- Strong understanding of enterprise firewall, proxy, and bandwidth constraints.
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP, TLS, and network reliability.
- Nice to have: Hands-on experience with DICOM (C-STORE, DIMSE) or HL7 MLLP protocols.
Responsibilities
- Architect edge gateway software to run reliably within customer data centers with high-availability patterns.
- Optimize ingestion paths for large-scale DICOM and HL7 data streams including local queuing and backpressure mechanisms.
- Design and implement automated, over-the-air (OTA) update mechanisms for distributed fleets of gateways.
- Develop cloud-side ingestion strategies using tools like Kafka or Google Cloud Pub/Sub to handle traffic bursts.
- Implement load shedding and fairness algorithms to manage cloud resource allocation across multiple customer gateways.
- Design secure connectivity patterns such as mutual TLS, reverse tunnels, and VPNs.
- Provide mentorship on TCP/IP mechanics, TLS optimization, and network debugging.
