Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • 8+ years of experience in airport design and/or construction, either in private industry or government service.
  • Proven experience managing aviation projects, including airport design and construction administration.
  • Strong understanding of FAA advisory circulars related to airport design and FAA grant processes.
  • Experience leading teams, mentoring staff, and supporting professional development initiatives.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage clients and stakeholders effectively.
  • Proficiency with computer applications and project management tools.
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and capable of managing complex projects in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to travel for client meetings, site visits, and industry events.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to safely operate a vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Manage airport design and construction projects from concept through completion, including planning, regulatory approvals, environmental considerations, financial planning, land acquisition, and project phasing.
  • Serve as a primary client contact, developing and maintaining strong relationships with airport sponsors, aviation agencies, and industry stakeholders.
  • Lead project management activities, ensuring successful delivery, schedule adherence, budget management, and alignment with client expectations.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to junior staff while helping expand team capabilities.
  • Perform quality assurance and quality control reviews for project designs, technical documents, and contract materials.
  • Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities, preparing proposals, participating in pursuits, and contributing to market growth strategies.
  • Collaborate with leadership and internal teams to expand aviation services and strengthen industry presence.
  • Provide construction support, attend client meetings, and participate in site visits as required.
  • Represent the organization at industry conferences, events, and professional organizations to build relationships and promote aviation expertise.
