Requirements
- Deep experience with Ruby and Rails in a large, established monolith.
- Proven track record building products that integrate large language models.
- Experience designing and operating systems built for large scale, high availability, and throughput.
- Hands-on experience with agentic systems and building workflows for autonomous AI action.
- Ability to learn new AI capabilities quickly as technology shifts.
- Strong written communication skills for asynchronous work in a distributed team.
- Experience with Python is a plus.
- Experience using GitLab as a product is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design and build the trigger system that links GitLab events and third-party tools to AI-powered Duo Flows.
- Contribute to the broader event platform, the core infrastructure that powers GitLab AI features.
- Architect for high availability and throughput to ensure reliable event processing at scale.
- Work within GitLab's Rails monolith and stay open to other languages used across the platform.
- Influence product and architecture direction by proposing iterative solutions to complex problems.
- Collaborate with teammates, product managers, and designers to shape trigger system support.
- Partner with other Duo Agent Platform teams to integrate triggers and events into the broader agent ecosystem.
- Participate in Tier 2 and Tier 3 on-call rotations to troubleshoot production and security issues.
