Requirements
- 4+ years of experience shipping production full-stack applications.
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript for both frontend and backend development.
- Deep experience with NestJS (or strong grasp of Express/Fastify with Dependency Injection).
- Experience with Next.js/React, including hooks, App Router, and SSR/CSR.
- Proficiency with PostgreSQL or MySQL, including schema design, indexing, transactions, and migrations.
- Ability to design scalable solutions that fit within existing, rigid systems.
- Testing discipline utilizing Jest, Playwright/Cypress, and Supertest.
- Strong API design capabilities, specifically with REST and backward-compatible evolution.
Responsibilities
- Work across the full stack including data models, APIs, and UI, contributing to domains migrating to the modern stack.
- Recognize and replace bad legacy patterns from the existing Express/MongoDB and Backbone/React layers.
- Design scalable solutions that integrate with a rigid legacy system.
- Develop services using NestJS modules and Next.js applications with App Router and server components.
- Execute the strangler-fig migration approach to run legacy and new code side-by-side behind feature flags.
- Model relational data by moving transactional information into normalized SQL schemas.
- Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure safe development.
- Identify and flag performance or stability issues like flaky tests, N+1 queries, or missing indexes.
