Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university (BSEE strongly preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Transmission & Distribution substation engineering.
- Demonstrated experience as an Electrical Project Engineer in substation applications.
- Proficiency in primary (outdoor) substation design and related calculations.
- Strong knowledge of HV/MV equipment, including reactors, transformers, breakers, and disconnect switches.
- Familiarity with North American standards (IEEE, ANSI, NEC, NESC).
- Ability to develop design packages without clear customer specifications.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; BIM and Revit knowledge are strongly desired.
- Experience with field-testing and commissioning.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 20%, including international travel.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all technical aspects of substations and balance of plant for large HV projects.
- Develop and manage engineering schedules, design reviews, design optimization, and quality control.
- Prepare concept and detail designs for single-line drawings, physical layouts, and equipment erection drawings.
- Produce technical specifications and data sheets for major high-voltage equipment.
- Manage project bills of material and design ledgers.
- Serve as the single point of contact for technical issues with customers and project managers.
- Support proposals and tenders for HVDC and substation projects, including estimating man-hours.
- Respond to site RFIs and conduct field inspections for compliance verification.
