Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (Florida single-state or multistate).
- Minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an RN.
- Minimum 2 years of oncology experience.
- Strong telephonic assessment and communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously in a virtual team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- High-level critical-thinking and organizational skills.
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification preferred.
- Must adhere to Florida State Board of Nursing regulations.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical triage for oncology patient calls regarding treatment, surgery, and appointments.
- Monitor and manage patient symptoms to reduce emergency department and inpatient readmissions.
- Assess barriers to care and provide individualized education and referrals to internal and external resources.
- Assist physicians, PAs, and ARNPs with resolving clinical issues during patient and family interactions.
- Document clinical interactions in accordance with professional guidelines.
- Facilitate communication across the multidisciplinary care team to prevent fragmented care.
- Review, evaluate, and report diagnostic test results to assess patient status.
- Provide clinical guidance following chemotherapy, radiation, infusion treatments, and surgery.
