Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 4 or more years of professional job-related experience.
  • Strong knowledge of disability and absence products and plan design.
  • Familiarity with group accounts related to client accounting procedures.
  • Strong accounting and tax knowledge including GAAP, SSAP, and IRS codes/regulations.
  • Experience with executive level reporting and escalation.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite software.
  • Ability to influence and guide internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent time management, research, mathematical, and reasoning abilities.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Execute payment processing, including tax-related transactions, and perform reconciliations across systems.
  • Research and resolve client accounting and tax-related issues by identifying root causes and implementing solutions.
  • Reconcile disability, absence, and statutory payments for moderately complex accounts.
  • Analyze account activity, customer requests, invoices, and payment history to determine appropriate actions.
  • Prepare journal entries and support ongoing transaction accuracy for the general ledger.
  • Ensure accuracy of tax reporting and support responses to standard inquiries such as W-2s and 1099s.
  • Create and distribute monthly reporting to clients and upper management.
  • Provide support and guidance to less experienced team members in preparing deliverables and resolving technical issues.
