Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- 6–10 years of professional tax experience, with experience in both income and indirect taxation.
- Strong knowledge of corporate tax compliance, tax accounting, and tax regulations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
- Master’s degree in Taxation is preferred.
- CPA certification or active progress toward CPA licensing is preferred.
- Experience supporting software, technology, or high-growth organizations is a plus.
- Experience with financial and tax systems such as NetSuite, Avalara, or Stripe is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
Responsibilities
- Manage income tax, sales and use tax, gross receipts tax, franchise tax, VAT, business tax, licensing, and property tax filings.
- Coordinate with external tax providers and manage the annual tax provision process.
- Maintain the tax calendar and ensure timely completion of regulatory filing obligations.
- Respond to tax authority audits, notices, and information requests.
- Review quarterly transfer pricing calculations, journal entries, and documentation.
- Support tax planning initiatives and analyze tax implications for business transactions.
- Prepare state income tax apportionment calculations and financial statement tax disclosures.
- Partner with sales and legal teams to provide tax guidance during contract negotiations.
- Maintain and optimize indirect tax software solutions and third-party tools.
