Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • 6–10 years of professional tax experience, with experience in both income and indirect taxation.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate tax compliance, tax accounting, and tax regulations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
  • Master’s degree in Taxation is preferred.
  • CPA certification or active progress toward CPA licensing is preferred.
  • Experience supporting software, technology, or high-growth organizations is a plus.
  • Experience with financial and tax systems such as NetSuite, Avalara, or Stripe is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Manage income tax, sales and use tax, gross receipts tax, franchise tax, VAT, business tax, licensing, and property tax filings.
  • Coordinate with external tax providers and manage the annual tax provision process.
  • Maintain the tax calendar and ensure timely completion of regulatory filing obligations.
  • Respond to tax authority audits, notices, and information requests.
  • Review quarterly transfer pricing calculations, journal entries, and documentation.
  • Support tax planning initiatives and analyze tax implications for business transactions.
  • Prepare state income tax apportionment calculations and financial statement tax disclosures.
  • Partner with sales and legal teams to provide tax guidance during contract negotiations.
  • Maintain and optimize indirect tax software solutions and third-party tools.
