Requirements

  • 5+ years of successful experience in a similar DX, DevOps, or SRE role.
  • Proficiency in software development with Python and Go, including programming best practices.
  • Experience in site reliability engineering, including root cause analysis, production troubleshooting, and on-call rotations.
  • Experience in infrastructure management, including CI/CD, containerization, orchestration, infra-as-code, monitoring, logging, and observability.
  • Technical product mindset with an understanding of software adoption patterns.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to contextualize risks and gain buy-in.
  • High agency, ownership, and a continuous desire to learn and improve systems.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Bazel or equivalent build system experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of the Python ecosystem.
  • Familiarity with GPU-based workloads and ecosystems.
  • Experience working in full remote environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement complex systems to scale research CI with a focus on reliability, reproducibility, and speed.
  • Build flexible, solid, and accessible development environments for researchers.
  • Design, implement, and advocate for solutions handling large amounts of data and maintainable data pipelines.
  • Optimize build processes including container images, large library compilation times, and Python environments.
  • Build relationships with researchers to understand workflows and enable them to leverage platform expertise.
  • Produce documentation and content to help researchers maximize the use of developed tools and systems.
  • Platformize research workflows and proactively identify and prevent future bottlenecks.
