Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Math, or related technical field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on engineering experience.
  • 2+ years of experience building and deploying machine learning systems, including generative AI (LLMs).
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals with experience shipping production-ready code.
  • Proficiency in Python or a comparable language.
  • Practical understanding of LLM techniques: prompting, RAG, fine-tuning, and evaluation.
  • Experience working with messy, real-world data and designing effective evaluation frameworks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-disciplinary collaboration.
  • Bias toward action and demonstrated ability to take ownership of ambiguous problems.

Responsibilities

  • Define technical strategy across multiple AI initiatives to influence product and research direction.
  • Design, build, train, and improve LLM-based systems for patient and provider-facing products.
  • Own end-to-end problem scope, dataset creation, model iteration, and production deployment.
  • Develop robust evaluation frameworks, including offline benchmarks and human-in-the-loop reviews.
  • Build and improve ML infrastructure including data pipelines, training, inference, and tooling.
  • Partner with clinicians, product managers, and engineers to translate medical requirements into ML solutions.
  • Set technical direction and mentor other engineers to raise the bar for engineering rigor.
