Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Math, or related technical field.
- 5+ years of professional engineering experience.
- 2+ years of experience building and deploying machine learning systems, including generative AI (LLMs).
- Strong software engineering fundamentals with experience shipping production-grade Python code.
- Practical understanding of modern LLM techniques including prompting, RAG, fine-tuning, and evaluation.
- Ability to work with real-world data and design effective evaluation frameworks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Demonstrated bias toward action, technical ownership, and problem-solving.
- Passion for the mission of improving healthcare outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Define technical strategy across multiple AI initiatives and align engineering investments.
- Design, build, train, and evaluate machine learning and LLM-based systems for patient and provider products.
- Own end-to-end problem lifecycle from scoping with clinicians to production deployment and monitoring.
- Develop robust evaluation frameworks including offline benchmarks, human-in-the-loop review, and online experiments.
- Build and maintain ML infrastructure including data pipelines, training, and inference platforms.
- Partner with clinical, product, and engineering teams to translate medical requirements into technical solutions.
- Set technical direction and mentor other engineers.
