Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in software quality or engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience leading and growing engineers.
  • Proven track record of building or maturing a test automation practice.
  • Recent, hands-on coding ability to build frameworks and write tests.
  • Strong technical judgment on automation frameworks, CI/CD, and test architecture.
  • Fluency with modern automation tooling (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Selenium).
  • Experience with CI/CD platforms (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Experience defining and using quality metrics for release decisions.
  • Understanding of AI in testing and experience evaluating or adopting AI-assisted QA tools.
  • Familiarity with testing AI or LLM features (e.g., evaluation harnesses, golden datasets, guardrails).

Responsibilities

  • Define and own the quality engineering strategy and roadmap across products.
  • Write automated tests, build framework components, and review code alongside the team.
  • Select test automation tooling and frameworks to set engineering standards.
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines in partnership with DevOps.
  • Define quality gates for merges and releases based on risk.
  • Drive a risk-based approach to testing to optimize effort.
  • Hire, coach, and grow a team of automation engineers.
  • Own quality metrics and dashboards to guide release decisions.
  • Evaluate and integrate AI-assisted testing tools with human oversight.
