Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in banking operations, trust operations, custody operations, payments, or related financial services environments.
  • Direct experience working within a federally regulated financial institution, national bank, federally chartered trust company, or equivalent organization.
  • Strong knowledge of fiduciary regulations, trust administration standards, regulatory expectations, and operational controls.
  • Demonstrated experience managing fiduciary or custodial account operations, including recordkeeping, asset segregation, account reviews, and control frameworks.
  • Proven ability to build and operate complex, high-volume, control-focused environments within regulated industries.
  • Experience presenting to or working directly with executive leadership, boards of directors, regulators, and institutional stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of internal audit processes, operational risk management, and regulatory examination preparation.
  • Experience managing third-party relationships in accordance with financial services vendor risk expectations.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, mentor, and lead teams in a highly regulated environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong executive presence.
  • Ability to operate strategically while managing detailed operational responsibilities.
  • Willingness and ability to travel for regulatory meetings, business engagements, and institutional activities as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all fiduciary and trust operations, including custody activities, settlement processes, reconciliation, reserve operations, and account administration.
  • Build and maintain operational frameworks, procedures, controls, and business continuity plans aligned with regulatory expectations.
  • Establish the operational infrastructure required from pre-opening through ongoing business operations.
  • Serve as the senior fiduciary leader, overseeing trust administration, fiduciary responsibilities, and compliance with applicable regulatory standards.
  • Ensure accurate fiduciary recordkeeping, including account setup, asset segregation, documentation, periodic reviews, and reporting requirements.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to fiduciary controls, conflicts of interest, asset protection, and operational safeguards.
  • Provide executive-level reporting to the Board of Directors regarding fiduciary activities, operational performance, risks, and compliance matters.
  • Partner with compliance, legal, risk, operations, and technology teams to manage regulatory obligations and operational improvements.
