Requirements
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, with experience building backend services or distributed systems.
- Strong proficiency in at least one programming language such as Go, Java, Python, or Scala.
- Experience designing and operating microservices using major cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Hands-on experience with containers and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with data platforms, event streaming systems, and databases such as Kafka, Pub/Sub, Redis, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Proven experience owning production systems, including monitoring, logging, tracing, and participation in on-call rotations.
- Experience working in agile environments and collaborating with product managers, data scientists, and other technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong mentoring abilities and experience leading technical initiatives from concept through delivery.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain resilient, low-latency backend services and data pipelines that support critical business operations.
- Develop and productionize features in collaboration with machine learning and data science teams, enabling improved decision-making and experimentation.
- Own services throughout their lifecycle, including architecture design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, reliability improvements, and on-call support.
- Improve system scalability, performance, reliability, and cost efficiency through optimization, capacity planning, observability practices, and incident analysis.
- Partner with product, marketplace, and operations teams to define technical roadmaps and deliver solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Contribute to engineering excellence through code reviews, design discussions, mentoring, and the improvement of development practices.
