Requirements
- Hands-on experience with real-time voice/telephony (Twilio, SIP, ASR/TTS) or latency-sensitive audio systems.
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js for production backend systems.
- High ownership mentality to take features from design to production and support them post-launch.
- Comfortable working with distributed/event-driven systems.
- Experienced in on-call rotations and incident response.
- Proficiency in instrumenting and monitoring voice quality, latency budgets, and failure modes in production.
- Ability to work in a fast-moving, AI-native engineering environment.
- Experience with agentic systems (tools/skills frameworks, MCP, evals, guardrails) is a plus.
- Knowledge of applied LLM work (fine-tuning, distillation, eval-driven development) is a plus.
- Background in insurance, fintech, or regulated/compliance-heavy verticals is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Build and improve the real-time voice platform, covering call handling, ASR/TTS pipelines, and latency-sensitive audio processing.
- Manage telephony infrastructure using Twilio and SIP, and the agent/skills layer for live calls.
- Drive reliability and latency improvements for systems handling high call volumes at scale.
- Instrument and monitor voice quality, latency budgets, and production failure modes.
- Develop and ship features daily utilizing AI coding tools like Claude Code and Codex.
