Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- 2+ years building and operating production AI systems.
- Experience designing distributed, SaaS, cloud-native, multi-tenant platforms at scale.
- Experience implementing AI guardrails, governance controls, and safety mechanisms.
- Extensive experience building and operating production systems on AWS.
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code using CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
- Strong understanding of AI system tradeoffs (latency, cost, accuracy, reliability).
- Experience mentoring engineers and influencing architectural decisions.
- Strong English language communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in fast-moving environments with ambiguity.
Responsibilities
- Define and evolve the technical architecture for Caseware’s AI platform, establishing standards and design principles.
- Design, build, and operate AI systems powered by LLMs, retrieval pipelines, and agentic workflows.
- Implement evaluation, governance, and traceability frameworks to ensure AI systems are measurable and compliant.
- Drive reliability, observability, and incident response practices across AI systems.
- Mentor engineers, contribute to architectural reviews, and influence technical direction.
- Partner with Product, QA, Security, and Domain SMEs to deliver platform capabilities.
