Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience in title work, landowner acquisition, or real estate permitting.
- Understanding of local, state, and federal statutory requirements for voluntary and eminent domain land acquisitions.
- Experience with electric transmission, oil, gas, or renewable energy linear projects.
- Ability to perform legal document searches and title reviews.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
- Solid understanding of ArcGIS and Google Earth.
- Ability to travel and conduct overnight work away from home up to 50% of the time.
- Ability to work outside normal business hours as required.
- Current valid driver’s license and a personal vehicle suitable for field work.
- Wisconsin and Minnesota Real Estate License (or willingness to obtain one).
Responsibilities
- Establish trust and build long-term relationships between the client and landowners.
- Make independent decisions while working with landowners and project stakeholders.
- Coordinate meetings with stakeholders at project sites or other locations.
- Negotiate and secure fee titles, easements, leases, licenses, permits, and ordinances.
- Estimate potential construction damages in advance of projects.
- Perform land sales research and prepare agreement documents or permitting forms.
- Represent the company at public meetings before governmental agencies such as zoning boards and municipalities.
- Provide regular status reports to project managers regarding acquisition and permitting tasks.
