Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in life sciences, chemical engineering, biochemical engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in GMP or similarly regulated and complex manufacturing environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with process performance improvement in pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical production.
- Deep expertise in microbial fermentation, downstream recovery, and purification processes.
- Demonstrated experience implementing and sustaining operational excellence systems like Lean or Toyota Production System.
- Proven ability to deliver measurable improvements in safety, quality, throughput, and yield.
- Strong knowledge of structured problem-solving and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to coach frontline teams and influence senior stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel 50–60% for on-site presence.
Responsibilities
- Lead the deployment of a production operating system across manufacturing processes.
- Conduct structured assessments of current operational practices and create improvement roadmaps.
- Build and sustain tiered daily management systems, leader standard work, and visual performance management.
- Establish and manage continuous improvement initiatives, including kaizen events.
- Develop transformation scorecards to monitor performance and value capture.
- Coach teams in structured problem-solving methods such as A3 thinking and root-cause analysis.
- Lead value stream mapping activities to optimize manufacturing workflows.
- Mentor supervisors and operators in Lean fundamentals and standard work.
