- Law degree from an accredited institution and admission to practice law in the local jurisdiction.
- 7-10 years of post-qualification experience in IP and technology law.
- At least 4 years of in-house experience preferred.
- Significant exposure to data licensing and product counseling.
- Professional fluency in English for advanced legal reading, writing, and communication.
- In-depth knowledge of globally recognized IP concepts (trademarks, patents, copyrights, trade secrets).
- Experience advising on open-source and open-data license compliance.
- Experience with AI/ML legal issues.
- Demonstrated ability to use AI-powered tools for legal research and workflow efficiency.
- Ability to support US Eastern and EMEA time zones regularly.
Responsibilities
- Draft, negotiate, and advise on technology and data agreements, including SaaS, reseller, co-marketing, and AI/ML addendums.
- Serve as primary legal advisor for the product development lifecycle from ideation to launch.
- Conduct risk assessments and regulatory compliance reviews for new products, features, and APIs.
- Manage intellectual property matters including trademarks, patents, trade secrets, and copyright issues.
- Oversee open-source software (OSS) and open-data (OD) compliance programs.
- Advise on data acquisition, usage rights, and cross-border data transfer requirements.
- Support data monetization initiatives and DaaS product structuring.
- Develop and maintain IP, data, and OSS/OD policies, guidelines, and contract templates.
