Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or equivalent practical experience.
- 0–2 years of professional experience.
- Experience writing SQL to analyze or investigate data.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to investigate ambiguous questions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Interest in building a long-term career in software engineering.
- Experience with Google BigQuery or other modern cloud data warehouses (preferred).
- Experience writing Python (preferred).
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools like ChatGPT, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot (preferred).
- Experience working with large analytical datasets (preferred).
- Exposure to Git or software development workflows (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Investigate customer questions about data using SQL to identify root causes.
- Distinguish between platform behavior, customer education opportunities, and product defects.
- Communicate findings to internal teams and create detailed engineering tickets.
- Build expertise in AcuityMD's data model, business logic, and data pipelines.
- Improve platform quality by identifying recurring issues and validating fixes.
- Develop technical skills in Python, AI-assisted development, Git, and software practices.
- Take on increasingly technical projects while working alongside software engineers.
