Requirements
- Strong experience designing and operating backend systems at scale, particularly in areas involving compliance, governance, auditability, or security.
- Deep understanding of authorization and access control concepts, including role-based access control (RBAC), attribute-based access control (ABAC), and policy-as-code approaches.
- Proven production experience with Ruby on Rails in SaaS environments.
- Strong Python development experience, particularly for AI services, orchestration systems, or service integrations.
- Experience designing and building REST APIs and GraphQL APIs for internal or external platform usage.
- Familiarity with large-scale data and storage technologies such as PostgreSQL and ClickHouse.
- Experience leading complex, cross-team technical initiatives through design documents, RFCs, and collaborative engineering processes.
- Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly, evaluate trade-offs, and influence technical direction.
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed team environment.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive backend architecture for AI governance systems, including auditability, policy enforcement, and enterprise reporting capabilities.
- Design AI audit event systems, including event schemas, data pipelines, storage strategies, retention models, and export capabilities to support compliance requirements.
- Build integration layers that connect AI agent platforms with governance controls, enabling visibility and control over AI-driven actions.
- Develop technical solutions for tool governance, including metadata models, permissions, and access controls for safer AI tool usage.
- Establish backend foundations for policy frameworks that allow organizations to manage AI agents and tools based on specific governance requirements.
- Review technical designs, merge requests, and engineering proposals to maintain architectural consistency and implementation quality.
- Mentor engineers, provide technical guidance, and help teams make effective decisions in a distributed and asynchronous environment.
- Partner with engineering teams across AI, security, compliance, and platform areas to align governance capabilities with broader product strategies.
