Requirements
- Extensive experience in security compliance, governance, risk management, auditing, or related security assurance functions, including experience supporting external audits.
- Strong knowledge of security frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, ISO 27017, ISO 27018, ISO 42001, FedRAMP, NIST, and other relevant industry standards.
- Experience leading and developing teams, with the ability to establish direction, manage priorities, and support professional growth in a distributed environment.
- Strong understanding of cloud security, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) security models, DevSecOps practices, and modern technology environments.
- Proven ability to apply a risk-based approach to compliance by focusing on effective controls, testing strategies, and continuous improvement rather than checklist-based processes.
- Experience using automation, scripting, artificial intelligence, or other technology-driven approaches to optimize compliance operations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical and regulatory concepts to executives, auditors, customers, and cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and stakeholder management skills.
- Relevant professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or similar credentials are highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a security compliance team by setting priorities, developing talent, and building a high-performing and collaborative function.
- Oversee and expand security certification and assurance programs across industry and regulatory frameworks, including ISO standards, SOC 2, PCI, FedRAMP, and other relevant compliance requirements.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Security, IT, Legal, Product, and Engineering to embed governance, risk, and compliance practices into business operations and technical systems.
- Develop and execute compliance roadmaps that align security objectives with organizational growth, customer expectations, and evolving regulatory requirements.
- Drive automation and innovation within compliance workflows by leveraging scripting, artificial intelligence, compliance-as-code, and policy-as-code approaches to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Monitor regulatory developments, industry trends, and emerging security frameworks to proactively prepare the organization for future requirements.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, assessors, and consultants during certification activities, audits, assessments, and security reviews.
- Improve security metrics, reporting processes, and executive visibility by delivering meaningful insights into compliance progress, risks, and opportunities.
- Act as a security compliance subject matter expert by providing guidance, training, and communication to internal teams, customers, and senior stakeholders.
