Requirements
- 4–7 years of product management experience focused on data pipelines, data quality, or ingestion infrastructure.
- Proven track record of transforming raw, inconsistent data into trusted, usable information.
- Strong technical fluency: ability to write SQL, analyze pipeline outputs, review logs, and identify schema issues.
- Deep understanding of data architecture tradeoffs.
- Experience working with external data sources and third-party integrations.
- Ability to evaluate technical solutions, manage vendor decisions, and balance flexibility with scalability.
- Experience defining product requirements for infrastructure or platform products.
- Strong cross-functional communication skills with technical stakeholders and engineering teams.
- Hands-on ability to investigate data issues and validate solutions beyond dashboards.
- Experience with dbt or Great Expectations is a plus.
- Familiarity with data de-identification approaches is preferred.
- Exposure to ML training pipelines or data governance is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Own the product strategy and roadmap for data ingestion and quality systems.
- Define ingestion workflows, validation stages, quality checks, and readiness criteria.
- Establish product requirements for engineering teams to translate data challenges into scalable solutions.
- Lead product decisions regarding metadata generation, schema inference, and storage approaches.
- Define and improve quality assurance standards by reviewing pipeline outputs and validating data directly.
- Develop platform-level solutions to support multiple industries while minimizing unnecessary customization.
- Collaborate with engineering, data teams, and business stakeholders to align priorities.
- Evaluate build-versus-partner opportunities regarding third-party tools and vendors.
- Monitor ingestion risks and operational challenges to improve platform reliability.
