Requirements
- 7+ years of experience designing, operating, and scaling distributed storage platforms.
- Deep hands-on ownership experience with production Ceph environments.
- Expert-level knowledge of Ceph subsystems: CRUSH maps, placement groups, OSD, MON/MGR/MDS, RGW, CephFS, and RBD.
- Proven experience in capacity planning, durability analysis, performance optimization, and failure-domain modeling.
- Experience leading storage platform upgrades, migrations, and modernization programs.
- Strong software engineering skills in Python and/or Go.
- Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code and orchestration frameworks such as Terraform, SaltStack, and Ansible.
Responsibilities
- Design and architect large-scale production Ceph clusters, including CRUSH topology, failure-domain modeling, and data placement architecture.
- Lead fleet-wide capacity planning, performance modeling, and hardware qualification across 80+ production clusters.
- Own major platform upgrades and migration initiatives, including Ceph releases and OpenStack integrations.
- Drive resolution of the most complex cross-functional production incidents spanning storage, networking, virtualization, and compute systems.
- Establish automation, operational standards, and reliability practices to improve scalability and reduce toil.
