Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in IT, with cybersecurity experience strongly preferred.
- Foundational understanding of cybersecurity principles, threats, and best practices.
- Hands-on experience with EDR/XDR tools and email security/phishing protection.
- Familiarity with network and security fundamentals, including firewalls, DNS security, and content filtering.
- Experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM), including MFA and SSO.
- Proficiency with M365 and Azure security features.
- Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools, SIEM monitoring, and basic incident response processes.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Azure Security Engineer, CCNA Security).
- Availability to work outside a traditional Monday–Friday work week and normal business hours.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and triage alerts from security tools including SIEM, EDR/XDR, firewalls, and email security.
- Conduct initial investigation and documentation of potential security incidents and escalate issues to senior staff or MSSP.
- Perform identity and access management tasks such as user provisioning, access reviews, and MFA/SSO support.
- Support vulnerability scanning cycles and track remediation progress across systems.
- Collaborate with IT teams and the Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP) to resolve security-related tickets.
- Support the configuration and tuning of security solutions.
- Participate in 24/7 on-call responsibilities for Identity & Access Management, incident response, and escalations.
