Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience (3 years required for Senior level).
  • Computer literacy, with EPIC scheduling and registration experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of insurance, authorization, and referral guidelines.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proven capability to remain graceful and composed under pressure and in stressful situations.
  • Ability to interact with patients of diverse ages and cultural backgrounds.
  • Proactive and resourceful approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Verify patient eligibility and benefits using UChart, online portals, and telephone.
  • Manage and update insurance information, guarantor accounts, and plan details in UChart.
  • Obtain and document necessary authorizations and referrals for scheduled services.
  • Maintain productivity standards and meet a 95% or greater quality assurance goal.
  • Communicate authorization status, denials, or required information to patients and clinical departments.
  • Educate patients on financial clearance processes and insurance requirements.
