Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience (3 years required for Senior level).
- Computer literacy, with EPIC scheduling and registration experience preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of insurance, authorization, and referral guidelines.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proven capability to remain graceful and composed under pressure and in stressful situations.
- Ability to interact with patients of diverse ages and cultural backgrounds.
- Proactive and resourceful approach to problem-solving.
Responsibilities
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits using UChart, online portals, and telephone.
- Manage and update insurance information, guarantor accounts, and plan details in UChart.
- Obtain and document necessary authorizations and referrals for scheduled services.
- Maintain productivity standards and meet a 95% or greater quality assurance goal.
- Communicate authorization status, denials, or required information to patients and clinical departments.
- Educate patients on financial clearance processes and insurance requirements.
