Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1+ years of experience in a call center, customer service, or medical office.
  • Must have previous experience with appointment scheduling in a practice management system.
  • Excellent written, listening, and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Detail-oriented with strong logical and critical thinking skills.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
  • Ability to work varying shifts, including early mornings or evenings.
  • Favorable background check result.
  • Previous medical office, optometric, or ophthalmic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Answer inbound and outbound calls for multiple clinics efficiently and professionally.
  • Schedule patient appointments in electronic systems according to department protocols.
  • Verify and capture patient demographics, insurance, and medical information.
  • Address patient questions and provide clinical advice and guidance resources.
  • Initiate service recovery to maintain patient satisfaction and clinic relationships.
  • Relay information to clinic team members using appropriate messaging systems.
  • Maintain patient records and charts while adhering to HIPAA compliance.
