Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience as a DBA, DataOps Engineer, or Platform/Site Reliability Engineer.
- Strong MSSQL administration background including performance tuning and backup/restore operations.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (SQL Managed Instance, ADF, App Services, Azure Storage).
- Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Python, T-SQL, or Bash) to automate DBA tasks.
- Experience building automation with Azure-native tools (Azure Automation Runbooks, Logic Apps, Azure Functions).
- Strong experience authoring and maintaining multi-stage YAML pipelines in Azure DevOps.
- Proven ability to identify manual toil and implement self-healing patterns.
- Strong pattern recognition for troubleshooting across data, application, and infrastructure layers.
- Ability to work independently during off-hours on-call coverage.
- Clear and concise written communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Manage and troubleshoot Azure SQL Managed Instance environments including performance, indexing, and statistics.
- Monitor and triage Azure Data Factory pipelines, diagnosing ETL dependencies and integration failures.
- Perform Azure infrastructure operations including App Services, deployment slots, WebJobs, and certificate management.
- Identify and eliminate manual operational toil by designing automation with PowerShell, Python, Logic Apps, or Azure Functions.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps for data platform and infrastructure.
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for off-hours incident response and planned maintenance.
- Document operational procedures and produce daily shift handoff reports.
