Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing.
- Current New York State RN license.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a health care setting.
- Proficiency in areas emphasized in the Registered Nurse curriculum.
- Ability to work from a secure, private remote location.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (preferred).
- Previous telephone triage experience (preferred).
- Previous experience in a walk-in, primary care, or specialty care office setting (preferred).
- Knowledge of Joint Commission, NYS Department of Health, CMS, and Article 28 standards (preferred).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Provide telephone communication and assessment of patient needs.
- Apply procedures, policies, and precedents related to nursing standards and UHS requirements.
- Provide advice and follow-up education consistent with patient age and cultural needs.
- Respond to patient inquiries and prioritize responses effectively.
- Route urgent situations to the appropriate provider.
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with HIPAA and UHS policies.
- Work from a secure, private remote location.
