Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- 4 or more years of experience as an estimator for construction, stormwater, utilities, erosion control, or excavation and grading projects.
- High-level comprehension of construction processes, construction materials, and estimating quantities.
- Ability to read site plans and develop cost estimates efficiently.
- Proven track record of establishing and maintaining working relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Acrobat.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Organized, self-motivated, fast learner, and capable of multitasking under deadlines.
- Valid driver’s license and a good driving history.
- Experience with estimating software is preferred.
- Experience with Deltek Vision is highly desired.
Responsibilities
- Develop and modify comprehensive cost estimates and bid packages for various stormwater construction projects.
- Manage and lead a group of estimators focused on stormwater-related bid packages.
- Review deficiencies identified by field personnel to generate new proposal opportunities.
- Meet client deadlines for proposal development and submission.
- Collaborate with the growth team on new client work development.
- Contact regulatory authorities to discuss violations or project aspects.
- Develop and maintain material pricing databases for bidding purposes.
- Create bid takeoffs to determine quantities for project bidding.
- Actively participate in a culture of safe work practices.
