Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including work on distributed systems and large-scale backend platforms.
- Strong backend development experience (Scala preferred, with openness to Go, Java, Python, or similar).
- Experience with cloud environments (e.g., GCP) and building scalable service-oriented architectures.
- Proven ability to design and operate complex systems with attention to performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Strong product mindset with the ability to align technical decisions to customer and business outcomes.
- Hands-on experience or strong interest in using AI tools, LLMs, or agent-based systems.
- Ability to design workflows, guardrails, and feedback mechanisms for AI-assisted engineering.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders.
- Comfort working in autonomous, low-process environments with high ownership expectations.
- Strong analytical thinking and ability to ramp up in new codebases and domains.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable backend systems and foundational architecture patterns for partner commerce.
- Own features end-to-end, from backend services to partner-facing product capabilities.
- Build and optimize systems that support AI-assisted development workflows, including feedback loops and agent orchestration.
- Collaborate with product managers and business stakeholders to define and execute roadmap priorities.
- Drive technical decisions through clear documentation, asynchronous alignment, and engineering judgment.
- Improve codebases and engineering practices to enable faster, safer development for engineers and AI-driven workflows.
- Contribute to a culture of high-quality engineering through peer collaboration and continuous improvement.
