Requirements
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in security research, vulnerability investigation, and proof-of-concept development.
- Deep knowledge of cloud (AWS) and application security vulnerabilities and exploitation vectors.
- Proven track record of translating research findings into shipped product capabilities through collaboration with engineering and ML teams.
- Demonstrated ability to serve as a public face for research through published content or conference speaking.
- Direct experience in a security tooling or research organization.
- Strong proficiency in coding and scripting (e.g., Python, Go) for automation and validation tooling.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex findings to technical practitioners and internal stakeholders.
- Proven leadership and mentoring experience in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment.
- Experience operating in early-stage or startup settings.
- Understanding of how to build and maintain security research operations.
Responsibilities
- Feed research directly into product and engineering to sharpen vulnerability detection, prioritization, and remediation.
- Translate deep threat research into labels and signals to train AI models for risk assessment.
- Define direction, standards, and methodologies for researching and validating security threats.
- Produce authoritative technical intelligence on exploitation techniques, attack vectors, and remediation.
- Establish frameworks and review processes to ensure consistent and defensible vulnerability assessment.
- Represent the research function externally through technical talks, blog posts, and conference presentations.
- Mentor and develop research staff to scale the team and foster a high-performance culture.
