Requirements
- 3+ years of related experience in clinical documentation and/or coding.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
- Active MD (Doctor of Medicine) or RN (Registered Nurse) license required.
- Must hold at least one of the following: CCS, CPC, CPMA, RHIA, or RHIT.
- Must obtain Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) certification within 9 months of hire.
- Experience with multiple EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Meditech, Cerner).
- Strong organizational, speaking, and presentation skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft applications, including PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel for onsite client or corporate needs as required.
- Inquisitive mindset with openness to AI and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Implement and develop onboarding for new Clinical Documentation Specialists (CDSs).
- Formulate customized education for diverse audiences including providers, nurses, and coding staff.
- Perform medical record reviews to ensure accuracy in capturing severity of illness and risk of mortality.
- Audit CDS performance to ensure system objectives are met and develop individual educational plans.
- Draft compliant queries endorsed by AHIMA and ACDIS.
- Maintain enterprise goals, regulatory compliance, and system policies.
- Coordinate SMART department-related education and requirements.
