Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- 3–4 years in an engineering leadership role managing engineering managers.
- Proven track record of managing delivery predictability at the function level.
- Hands-on experience defining and running SDLC, code review standards, and change management processes.
- Strong people leadership skills for hiring, developing, and managing performance of engineering managers.
- Solid understanding of backend distributed systems in a regulated or high-stakes environment.
- Evidence-based approach to AI-assisted development tools and workflows.
- Experience managing engineering metrics like cycle time, defect rates, and blocker aging.
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in a regulated environment such as fintech, banking, or payments.
- Access to a dedicated workspace and a high-speed, reliable internet connection.
Responsibilities
- Define, evolve, and own the unified Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and its governance.
- Set and enforce engineering standards including code reviews, retrospectives, and quality discipline.
- Provide people leadership to Engineering Managers, including performance management and hiring.
- Oversee backend change management and maintain a regulator-ready audit trail for all deployments.
- Drive the adoption of AI-first engineering practices and tooling across the function.
- Manage the function-level tech-debt roadmap and engineering capacity planning.
- Facilitate incident response and lead post-mortem processes.
- Coordinate cross-functional initiatives and manage inter-departmental dependencies.
