Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive communications experience, including dedicated internal communications experience.
- Track record of success in organizations of 150+ employees, preferably in nonprofit, advocacy, or technology sectors.
- Proven experience serving as a senior advisor to Executive-level leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to independently define goals, benchmarks, and success metrics for a communications function.
- Systems-level mastery of how communications impacts employee engagement, organizational culture, and business effectiveness.
- Exceptional writing and content development skills for diverse audiences.
- Proven success operating with full autonomy, prioritizing large and complex work.
- Executive presence and high judgment for navigating senior leadership settings.
- Cultural competency and demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in communication practices.
- Ability to work effectively across multiple time zones and collaborate with distributed teams.
- Proficiency with virtual communication tools such as Zoom and Slack.
- Availability during established, regular business hours (Mon-Fri).
Responsibilities
- Own ActBlue's comprehensive internal communications strategy, including defining KPIs, goals, and success metrics.
- Lead strategic direction and hands-on production for executive messages, all-staff meeting materials, and the internal newsletter.
- Define and maintain standards for internal communication channels including Slack, email, and Confluence.
- Lead content development and strategic programming for quarterly virtual All-Staff Meetings.
- Partner with People & Culture to support change management communications and employee experience goals.
- Own 25% of content creation for annual in-person All-Staff Retreats to strengthen organizational culture.
- Counsel Executive Leadership Team members on internal communications events and high-stakes situations.
- Serve as the top-level escalation point and subject matter expert on internal communications for staff and managers.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion in all communications, ensuring inclusive messaging and accessibility.
- Develop communications sequencing for organizational changes and restructurings to protect bargaining leverage and legal timelines.
