Requirements

  • 8–10+ years of legal experience.
  • Significant experience in employment law counseling.
  • At least one prior in-house legal role.
  • Experience in high-growth technology companies is a strong asset.
  • Prior law firm background is a strong asset.
  • Demonstrated fluency with AI tools.
  • Commitment to leveraging technology for legal work.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated fintech environment.

Responsibilities

  • Advise the People Team on all aspects of employment law, including hiring, performance management, terminations, and sensitive employee matters.
  • Provide proactive counsel on employment law compliance, specifically advising on non-exempt employee populations.
  • Manage internal investigations, policy development, and drafting of employment documentation.
  • Support broad legal initiatives including regulatory investigations, privacy and information security matters, and litigation support.
  • Review and provide legal input on business contracts.
  • Translate complex legal requirements into practical, actionable guidance for business stakeholders.
