Requirements
- Proven experience scaling a high-performing company, ideally through growth phases from ~200 to 500+ employees.
- Significant experience coaching managers through performance management and complex personnel decisions.
- Demonstrated history of personally leading employee investigations, complex offboardings, and sensitive employee relations.
- Ability to balance the implementation of necessary processes while avoiding unnecessary bureaucracy.
- Strong trust-building skills with both executives and individual contributors.
- Exceptional judgment, discretion, and emotional intelligence.
- Deep commitment to building a high-performance culture.
- Ability to transition effectively between strategic leadership discussions and hands-on operational work.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the executive team and functional leaders on organizational design, workforce planning, and leadership development.
- Define and evolve performance management philosophies, hiring standards, and promotion expectations.
- Coach managers on setting clear expectations, delivering direct feedback, and handling difficult personnel conversations.
- Manage operational foundations including benefits, payroll coordination, compliance, and core HR processes.
- Collaborate with legal counsel on investigations, employment matters, and policy development.
- Build and maintain lightweight, durable people systems that improve business performance.
