Requirements
- 3–8 years of experience in marketing, developer programs management, or developer relations.
- Proven track record of developing and executing go-to-market strategies.
- Demonstrated experience marketing to technical audiences (developers, security practitioners, or researchers).
- Strong writing skills across various formats such as social media and case studies.
- Ability to learn complex technical concepts and communicate them accurately to non-technical audiences.
- Experience with standard marketing tools such as CRMs and CMSes.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple workstreams with limited oversight.
- Comfort with ambiguity and ability to build structure in a startup environment.
- Familiarity with open source software culture and GitHub is strongly preferred.
- Experience in trust and safety, cybersecurity, or privacy domains is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Own go–to-market strategy and execution for new open source tool releases, including positioning, messaging, and channel strategy.
- Manage ROOST's conference strategy, including logistics, talk submissions, and event coordination for TrustCon, FOSDEM, and GDC.
- Partner with PR & Communications to maintain a content calendar, including newsletters, case studies, and position papers.
- Manage social media presence and the roost.tools website, including tracking analytics.
- Define success metrics for marketing activities and report on outcomes regularly.
- Build relationships with developers, trust and safety practitioners, and security researchers.
