Requirements
- Minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience in multi-family truss design or truss estimating (general estimating experience alone is not sufficient).
- Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings, with a focus on truss layouts.
- Deep understanding of multi-family construction standards and structural framing systems.
- Proficiency in truss design/estimating software, with strong preference for MiTek (ITW/Alpine experience is a plus).
- Solid experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access).
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and correct material or design inconsistencies.
- Experience in building materials or construction-related sales environments is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed and accurate material take-offs for multi-family truss and structural component systems.
- Interpret architectural and structural blueprints to develop truss layouts and determine material requirements for bids.
- Review and identify discrepancies in truss-related material lists and ensure corrections are applied before submission.
- Collaborate with truss and component designers to ensure accurate specifications and alignment with project requirements.
- Support outside sales teams by providing blueprint insights, estimating updates, and project clarifications.
- Assist in preparing competitive bids by ensuring precision in estimating outputs and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams to ensure project timelines and estimating accuracy are maintained.
