Requirements
- Currently matriculated undergraduate student or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Interest in a career in nonprofit development, specifically prospect development.
- Interest in exploring community centric fundraising (CCF) principles.
- Good writing and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Commitment to the mission of the ACLU.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and diversity principles.
- Ability to work collaboratively toward resolving obstacles.
- Must be based in the U.S. for the duration of the internship.
- Internship must be tied to a formal education program via coursework or academic credit.
Responsibilities
- Conduct prospect research to deepen knowledge of donors’ capacity and inclination to make major gifts.
- Learn about enterprise-wide fundraising tools, including data analytics and resources for prospect segmentation.
- Assist in vendor screening data uploads and ongoing prospect identification reviews.
- Recommend prospect assignments for national and affiliate portfolios to fundraisers.
- Perform Salesforce CRM data entry and business intelligence reporting projects.
- Write event bios and assist with various department projects.
