Requirements

  • Law degree from a top-tier law school and state bar membership in good standing.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of legal experience, in-house or at a law firm.
  • Experience analyzing and advising on state and federal health care privacy laws.
  • Strong background in data privacy and significant hands-on AI experience.
  • Project management experience, including distilling issues from stakeholders and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with stakeholders across legal and technical domains.
  • Experience solving product-related legal matters.
  • Experience in-house with a technology or health care organization preferred.
  • Strong prioritization skills to manage multiple competing demands.
  • IAPP AIGP or CIPP/US certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support Lyra’s privacy program and advise internal stakeholders on privacy concerns related to products and services.
  • Participate extensively in AI use case reviews, including generative AI and agentic AI.
  • Draft, maintain, and evolve AI governance documentation, including Responsible AI Policies and standards.
  • Ensure corporate adherence to state and federal privacy laws, including CCPA and HIPAA.
  • Analyze and advise on evolving US laws and regulations relating to privacy and AI.
  • Support international AI regulatory compliance, including the EU AI Act.
  • Collaborate with commercial counsel on privacy provisions in commercial agreements and Business Associate Agreements.
  • Advise product and business teams on potential regulatory implications of new and existing product lines.
  • Investigate, manage, and document privacy incidents.
