Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with Staff-level scope.
- Demonstrated experience shipping agentic AI systems to production at scale.
- Hands-on experience with modern agent frameworks (e.g., LangGraph).
- Deep understanding of the agent lifecycle: prompt/tool design, evaluation, scoring, and observability.
- Strong system design fundamentals including reliability, consistency, and data modeling.
- Comfortable working in a Ruby on Rails / MySQL environment.
- Ability to balance high-level architecture design with hands-on coding.
- Clear communication and judgment in high-stakes, cross-functional regulatory environments.
- Experience in regulated domains like fintech, healthcare, or insurance is preferred.
- Experience with adversarial testing (prompt injection/jailbreaking) is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Own the architectural direction for agentic AI across the organization in partnership with engineering leaders.
- Design, build, and ship production-grade AI agents for voice and chat payment use cases.
- Establish the agent lifecycle, including testing, offline/online evaluations, observability, and feedback loops.
- Manage unit economics, including token budgets, latency-vs-cost tradeoffs, and per-tenant cost attribution.
- Implement robust guardrails for security, PII protection, and compliance with PCI-DSS and payment regulations.
- Define shared patterns for prompts, tools, telemetry, and incident response for the wider engineering team.
- Partner with Product and Engineering Managers to shape technical strategy and business roadmap.
