Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a backend software engineer.
- Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design and distributed systems.
- Knowledge of performance and maintainability architectural trade-offs.
- Experience with data models, API design (HTTP and RPC), state machines, and event-driven architecture.
- Proficiency in database design.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience with technical specs and ADRs.
- Experience with backend stacks including AWS, gRPC, Snowflake, Kotlin, Python, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
- Experience with monitoring and alerting systems like Sentry, Rollbar, Chronosphere, or Kibana.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
Responsibilities
- Design and expand the platform backbone to scale for global merchants.
- Design and align work scope with other teams for cross-team project delivery.
- Partner with Engineering Managers and Team Leads to execute long-term team vision.
- Execute technical strategy for complex requirements using insightful, forward-looking approaches.
- Utilize agentic development tools to automate parts of the development process.
- Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes throughout the organization.
