Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- 3+ years as a Staff or equivalent senior individual contributor.
- Demonstrated experience building and shipping systems at scale.
- Proven track record of driving multi-team technical initiatives.
- Deep familiarity with Ruby on Rails, React, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Docker, PostgreSQL, and AWS.
- Practical experience with security/compliance (SOC2, vulnerability management, authentication).
- Hands-on experience with AI-enabled development tools (e.g., Claude Code).
- Proven experience building or contributing to agentic workflows (MCP servers, evaluation harnesses).
- Strong understanding of scalability, system design, and AI-first architecture components.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through influence and communicate complex ideas clearly.
- Genuine interest in mentoring and coaching engineers.
Responsibilities
- Set technical direction across multiple platform domains and shape architecture decisions.
- Own the most complex, ambiguous technical work end-to-end, including service design and large refactors.
- Anticipate systemic risks and drive resolution for scalability, data-flow, and security issues.
- Lead the design and adoption of agentic engineering workflows and AI-enabled development tools.
- Partner with leadership to shape the company's AI engineering strategy and guardrails.
- Directly manage two mid-level engineers, supporting their performance, growth, and development.
- Act as a senior technical authority for security and compliance (SOC2, vulnerability management).
- Provide thorough code reviews to raise the quality bar and mentor other engineers.
