Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a bookkeeping role, ideally in a multi-client capacity.
- Certificate III or Certificate IV in Bookkeeping qualification.
- Strong payroll expertise, including solid knowledge of awards, employment contracts, and payroll compliance.
- Advanced proficiency in both Xero and MYOB accounting software.
- Experience working with a range of apps and software add-ons to improve efficiency.
- Confidence in reviewing reports and discussing financial information with clients.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage workload independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive mindset with strong attention to detail.
- Professional, approachable, and client-focused manner.
- Tech-savvy attitude and willingness to learn new systems.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end bookkeeping for a diverse range of clients across multiple industries.
- Process full accounts payable and accounts receivable, including oversight of workflows and controls.
- Administer payroll, including onboarding, award interpretation, superannuation, payroll tax, STP compliance, and reviews.
- Prepare and lodge BAS and IAS, ensuring accuracy and compliance with ATO requirements.
- Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and review Profit and Loss reports.
- Identify errors, risks, or unusual transactions and proactively resolve or escalate as needed.
- Prepare and present management reports and insights to support client decision-making.
- Serve as the primary bookkeeping contact for clients, responding to queries and explaining financial information.
- Collaborate with internal team members to meet deadlines.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, streamline workflows, and optimize technology.
